Metadata Deposit Conditions
In depositing metadata with BODC, for inclusion in data discovery inventories or catalogues, you are agreeing to the following conditions:
- You confirm that you are the data originator, or a metadata provider acting on behalf of the data originator (with their permission), depositing data discovery metadata with BODC. BODC and metadata providers will abide by the terms in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- You grant BODC permission to, without changing content, translate the metadata to any medium or format for the purpose of future preservation and accessibility.
- You confirm that you have read the following Privacy notice.
Privacy notice
In dealing with your metadata submissions, BODC will need to create a permanent, secure record of contact details. The information will be used to enable BODC staff to contact originators, and/or those acting on their behalf should they have any questions about the metadata that have been supplied. Point of contact details can include the following personal data
- Name and role
- Organisation and address and/or a reference from the SeaDataNet European Directory of Marine Organisations
- Telephone and Fax
- Email address
We will take all reasonable precautions to protect personal data from loss, misuse or alteration. Your contact details will be discoverable by users of the catalogues and inventories, to identify you as the point of contact.
